HKDAS was thrilled to kick off this year’s Tech Hub series in collaboration with HKML on July 10th, 2025, at iCube HKU. The event brought together industry experts, academics, and enthusiasts to explore the transformative role of AI in finance.

🔹 Botao Wu (Assistant Professor of Finance, CUHK) delved into "Monetary Policy and Hedge Funds' Reaching for Beta," revealing how hedge funds leverage FOMC announcements to predict market trends.
🔹 Ruchir Desai (Fund Manager, AFC Asia Frontier Fund) made a compelling case for "Why Asian Frontier Markets Should Not Be Ignored," highlighting the untapped potential of markets like Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan, backed by strong demographics and reform momentum.
